(INDIANAPOLIS) - Indianapolis native John Andretti will have a ride for next month’s Indianapolis 500 with NASCAR legend Richard Petty as the entrant.
Petty and Andretti unveiled the car at a news conference at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Monday. The car will sport Petty Enterprises' traditional number 43 with the Petty Blue and Day-Glo Red color scheme.
Andretti has made nine previous starts in the Indianapolis 500 and drove for Petty for seven seasons in NASCAR.
Petty is making his first foray into IndyCar racing and has partnered with Dreyer & Reinbold Racing for the May 24th race.
