(BLOOMINGTON) - Indiana University freshman guard Malik Story announced that he will transfer from the Hoosier program at the end of the semester.

In a release from the university, Story expressed a desire to play closer to his Southern California home.

The release did not specify where Story would transfer.

The 6-5 guard averaged just under 6 points in 31 games this past season.

He will sit out the 2009-2010 season and have three years of eligibility remaining.
