(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - The NBA Players Association filed a grievance Tuesday on behalf of Jamaal Tinsley, asking the Pacers to either trade or release the veteran point guard.

Pacers President Larry Bird issued a statement saying the team is aware of the grievance and is trying to work out a trade.

ESPN.com reports that there have been discussions between the Pacers and the Charlotte Hornets involving restricted free-agent-to-be Raymond Felton, but sources are unsure if snags in the deal could be worked out before the February 19th NBA trade deadline.

Tinsley is on Indiana's active roster but has not played all season. Bird has said that the team will not buy out the remaining two seasons on Tinsley's deal, which is worth more than $14-million dollars.
