Consecutive 3 Pointers Push Boilers Past Hawkeyes

(WEST LAFAYETTE, IN) - E’Twaun Moore scored a team-high 13 points and Keaton Grant hit four of his five shots from three-point range as the 19th-ranked Purdue Boilermakers beat the Iowa Hawkeyes 75-53 at Mackey Arena.

Iowa kept the game close for a half, trailing 26-22 before Marcus Green's three pointer as time expired gave the Boilers a seven-point advantage at intermission.

Purdue jumped on Iowa early in the second half. Consecutive three-pointers by Grant, Moore, Robbie Hummel and Lewis Jackson were part of an 18-2 run that propelled the Boilermakers to a 21-point lead with 13 and-a-half minutes left in the game. Nemanja Calasan added ten points as Purdue won its third game in a row.

David Palmer led the Hawkeyes with a game-high 19 points with Matt Gatens adding eleven as Iowa lost its third straight to fall to 11-and-7, 1-and-4 in Big Ten play.

Purdue improves to 14-and-4, 3-and-2 in the conference. They are at Minnesota on Thursday night.
