Pacers Host New Jersey Tuesday Night

Last updated on Tuesday, December 23, 2008

(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - The Indiana Pacers return to action tonight as they host the New Jersey Nets.

Indiana has already defeated the Nets twice this season, but New Jersey was without point guard Devin Harris in both of those games. Harris is fifth in the NBA in scoring at more than 24 points per game and is eleventh in assists at almost seven per contest. Vince Carter is still a scoring force for New Jersey, averaging almost 23 points per game.

New Jersey lost at home to Houston last night to fall to 13-and-14 this season, which is good for second place in the Atlantic Division although it puts them twelve and-a-half games behind the first-place Celtics. The Pacers are 10-and-17 and are last in the Central Division.

Danny Granger, Troy Murphy and Marquis Daniels were not at practice on Monday. The three spent last weekend in the hospital with viral infections and were released on Sunday morning. They are listed as day-to-day and are expected to rejoin the team today, but there is no word as to whether any of them will play tonight.

Maceo Baston and Travis Diener are also listed as day-to-day. Baston has been sidelined by a sore back while Diener has battled a foot problem all season.

Forward Mike Dunleavy was back at practice for the Pacers on Monday. Dunleavy has played just twelve minutes in a preseason game as he has been bothered by tendonitis and a bone spur in his right knee. He spent ten minutes on the court working out in a half-court setting.

Pacers Coach Jim O'Brien estimated last week that Dunleavy could miss a month as he rehabilitates his knee injury.
