Pacers Stun Lakers With Last Second Shot

(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - The Indiana Pacers survived a meltdown at the end of the third quarter and pulled off an improbable 118-117 win over the Los Angeles Lakers at Conseco Fieldhouse.

Troy Murphy's tip-in as time expired gave Indiana the win after LA appeared to take control by scoring the final 17 points of the third quarter to take a 15-point lead entering the final period.

The Pacers chipped away throughout the fourth quarter, outscoring the defending western conference champions 32-16 over the final twelve minutes.

Danny granger led the Pacers with 32 points while Murphy finished with 16 points and 17 rebounds as Indiana halts a two-game skid to improve to 7-and-10. TJ ford added 21 points with Marquis Daniels and Rasho Nesterovic also scoring 16 points for the Pacers, who have won five of their last six games against the Lakers at Conseco Fieldhouse.

Kobe Bryant led Los Angeles with 28 points with Pau Gasol adding 20 as the Lakers see their seven-game winning streak come to an end and fall to 14-and-2.

The Pacers are in Boston tonight to face the defending NBA champion Celtics. Boston now owns the best record in the league at 17-and-2 and have won nine straight.

The Pacers handed the Celtics one of their two losses this season, beating Boston 95-79 at the Fieldhouse back on November 1st.
