(BOSTON, MA) - The Indiana Pacers could not pull off a fourth-quarter comeback in back-to-back nights and lost to the defending NBA champion Boston Celtics 114-96 in Boston.

The game was close for a half with Boston owning a 57-51 lead at the break. The Celtics started pulling away in the third quarter, outscoring Indiana 26-to-6 during one stretch in the period to take a 24 point lead.

Boston owned a 15-point advantage at the end of three quarters of play, the same lead the Lakers had on the Pacers on Tuesday night before Indiana came back to nip LA at the buzzer.

The Pacers would get as close as eight in the fourth quarter, but Boston would pull away down the stretch.

Ray Allen scored a season-high 31 points to lead the Celtics with Kevin Garnett adding 26 points and 14 rebounds and Rajon Rondo finishing with a triple-double of 16 points, 13 rebounds and 17 assists. It was the first triple-double of rondo's career and the 17 assists are a career high.

With the win, Boston extends its winning streak to ten games as they are now 18-and-2 on the season.

Danny Granger led Indiana with 20 points as Indiana falls to 7-and-11. Their two-game road trip concludes Friday in Cleveland as they face Lebron James and the central division-leading Cavaliers.
