(MUNCIE, IN) - Brady Hoke has resigned as head football coach at Ball State to take over as head coach at San Diego State.

Ball State Athletic Director Tom Collins announced Hoke's departure on Monday night.

Hoke led the Cardinals to a 12-and-1 record this season. Ball State lost its bid for a perfect season and a Mid-American Conference Championship with their loss to Buffalo in the MAC Championship game on December 5th.

The Cardinals face the Tulsa Golden Hurricane in the GMAC Bowl in Mobile, Alabama on January 6th.
