Colts Prepare For Lions Matchup

Last updated on Wednesday, December 10, 2008

(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - The Indianapolis Colts return to the practice field today as they begin preparing for their game with the 0-and-13 Detroit Lions.

The Colts have won six-straight games but still have no breathing room in their quest for one of the two AFC wild card spots. Indianapolis currently holds onto the fifth seed in the AFC playoff chase at 9-and-4, but the Baltimore Ravens are also 9-and-4 while New England, Miami and the New York Jets are tied atop the AFC East at 8-and-5.

Can The Lions Stop Their Downward Spiral?

The Lions are trying to avoid becoming the first team in NFL history to go 0-and-16 in a season. Following Sunday's game, Detroit hosts New Orleans before finishing the season against Green Bay at Lambeau Field.

The Lions' situation at quarterback is uncertain for this Sunday's game. Starter Daunte Culpepper underwent an MRI on his throwing shoulder on Monday. The Lions have not released the results of the MRI or updated Culpepper's status.

If Culpepper cannot play, Drew Henson would probably get the start. Henson closed out last Sunday's loss to Minnesota.
