(DeKALB, IL) - The Indiana State Sycamores lost their regular season opener, falling at Northern Illinois 86-79.
Darion Anderson and Mike Dinunno led the Huskies with 27 points apiece as NIU improves to 2-1 on the season. Indiana State was led by Rashad Reed's 21 points with Aaron Carter finishing with 14 points, Jay Tunnell scoring 14 and Josh Crawford adding 13.
The Sycamores open the home portion of their schedule on Sunday when they face the Mean Green of North Texas.
