Colts Slip Past Pats At Lucas Oil Stadium

(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - Adam Vinatieri kicked a 52-yard field goal with just over eight minutes remaining and the Indianapolis Colts held on to defeat the New England Patriots 18-15.

It was the first field goal of 50 yards or longer that Vinatieri made in his last 91 games.

Peyton Manning completed 21 of 29 passes for 254 yards and two touchdowns - both to Anthony Gonzalez. The second Gonzalez touchdown gave Indianapolis a 13-12 lead when Manning hit Reggie Wayne on the two-point conversion attempt to give the Colts a three-point lead at 15-12.

Stephen Gostkowski hit a 25-yard field goal with 11:33 left to tie the game, setting up Vinatieri's eventual game-winner.

Matt Cassell threw for 204 yards with an interception for New England while the Patriots' lone touchdown came on a six-yard run by Benjarvis Green-Ellis.

The Colts even their record at 4-and-4 as they head to Pittsburgh to face the Steelers on Sunday afternoon. The Patriots fall to 5-and-3.
