Pacers Make Cuts, Beat The Mavericks

Last updated on Friday, October 24, 2008

(DALLAS, TX) - Danny Granger scored 24 points and Marquis Daniels added 22 points and nine rebounds as the Indiana Pacers beat the Dallas Mavericks 114-91 in their preseason finale.

Granger continues to struggle with his shot, hitting just five of 16 shots from the field, but hit all twelve of his free throw attempts.

T.J. Ford had a good night, finishing with 19 points, seven rebounds and nine assists, and Josh Howard led Dallas with 19 points.

Indiana finishes the preseason at 4-and-4, and before last night's game, the Pacers announced that they had waived forwards Austin Croshere and Josh Davis.

The moves bring the Pacer roster down to the league-maximum 15 players.

Croshere was in his second tour with Indiana after spending the first nine seasons of his career with the Pacers.

Croshere averaged five points and five rebounds in six preseason games.

Croshere and Davis were considered long shots to make the Indiana roster as the other players on the roster have guaranteed contracts.

One of those players is Jamaal Tinsley, who the team is trying to trade and who Team President Larry Bird has said will not play with the Pacers this season.

Indiana opens the regular season on Wednesday night when they face the Detroit Pistons at The Palace of Auburn Hills.
