Colts Return To Practice, Sign Cornerback

Last updated on Wednesday, October 8, 2008

(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - The Indianapolis Colts return to practice today as they begin preparing for Sunday afternoon’s game with the Baltimore Ravens at Lucas Oil Stadium.

Both the Colts and Ravens enter Sunday's game with 2-and-2 records. The Colts are coming off a 31-27 win at Houston that saw the horseshoes score 21 points in a span of just over two minutes late in the fourth quarter to pull of a comeback victory. The Ravens are coming off a loss to the Tennessee Titans last Sunday in Baltimore.

Colts Head Coach Tony Dungy has been frustrated by the inconsistent play the horseshoes have displayed during the first month of the season. After losing convincingly to the Chicago Bears in the season-opener, the Colts have relied on fourth-quarter comebacks in wins over Minnesota and Houston while using another late charge to take the lead on Jacksonville before losing on a last-second field goal.

Indianapolis is also looking for its first win at their new home, Lucas Oil Stadium. The Colts dropped both preseason games at their new $700-million dollar stadium and their first two regular season home games.

Colts Sign Former Eagle

The Colts reportedly have made some roster moves, signing cornerback Nick Graham while waiving running back and kick returner Justin Forsett and offensive tackle Corey Hilliard.

Graham spent last season with the Philadelphia Eagles, playing primarily on special teams. His signing could indicate that starting cornerback Kelvin Hayden could miss some playing time after suffering a knee injury against Houston last Sunday. Hayden underwent an MRI on the knee on Monday, but the team has not released the results.

Forcett returned eleven kickoffs for a 22.5-yard average and four punts for a nine-yard average with the Colts.

The moves leave the Colts with an open spot on the 53-man roster.
