(MUNCIE, IN) Ball State defensive back Sean Baker is the Mid-American Conference West Division Defensive Player of the Week as well as the Walter Camp Foundation National Defensive Player of the Week.

Baker, a redshirt freshman, tied a school record with three interceptions and returned a fumble 33 yards for a touchdown in the Cardinals' 41-24 win at Akron. Baker was also credited with breaking up a pass, two solo tackles and seven assists against the zips.

Baker is the third cardinal to win MAC-West honors this season. Punt returner BJ Hill was special teams player of the week in week one while wide receiver Dante Love was offensive player of the week last week.

Ball State faces Indiana in Bloomington this Saturday night.
