(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - Indiana Pacers owner Herb Simon feels the team can trade veteran point guard Jamaal Tinsley.

Simon tells The Indianapolis Star that Tinsley has "probably outlived his welcome here" and that other teams will try to lowball the Pacers for Tinsley's services since the franchise's desire to trade Tinsley is well known.

Team President Larry Bird, General Manager David Morway and Head Coach Jim O'Brien have all said that it is time for the franchise to part ways with the injury-prone point guard. Bird said last month that he probably would not buy out the remainder of Tinsley's contract.

A combination of off-court troubles and injuries have contributed to making Tinsley expendable.

The Pacers further indicated their desire to move the seven-year veteran from Iowa State by acquiring point guards T.J. Ford and Jarrett Jack in a pair of trades around the time of June's NBA Draft.
