(BLOOMINGTON) - Four Olympic athletes in Beijing have connections to either Bloomington or Indiana University.

Bloomington native and IU Hoosier Christina Loukas is a 22-year-old diver competing in the bubble building in the Chinese capital, and has a preliminary in the 3-meter springboard tomorrow. If Loukas survives, she will face semifinals Saturday and the medal round is Sunday.

Indiana University field hockey star Kayla Bashore is a native of South Korea, midfielder and Big Ten Player of the Year, however, the US field hockey team isn't looking so hot, currently at 0-1-2, losing to Germany last night and tying Argentina and Japan. Bashore and the US team takes on New Zealand tomorrow.

24-year-old David Neville, a Merrillville native and IU Hoosier is a long-sprint runner who many believe could win a gold medal as part of the 1600-meter relay team which takes to the blocks August 22nd.

Finally, 25-year-old triple-jumper Aarik Wilson is another IU Hoosier who won the US trials this year will start hopping in preliminaries Sunday. The triple jump medal round is August 21st.
