After Delay, Grand Slam Pushes Indians To Victory

Last updated on Wednesday, August 6, 2008

(BUFFALO, NY) - Catcher Michel Hernandez blasted a grand slam in the second inning and that was all the Indianapolis Indians needed to get past the Buffalo Bisons 5-2.

The Tribe loaded the bases in the second inning when heavy rains hit Dunn Tire Park, forcing a two hour, ten minute delay. When play resumed Hernandez immediately cleared the bases with his third home run of the season.

The Indians added some insurance with an RBI single from Brian Bixler in the fourth.

The Tribe and the Bisons have split the first two games of the four-game series in Buffalo. Game three is tonight.
