Tracy To Climb Into #22 Subway Car Next Weekend

Last updated on Wednesday, July 16, 2008

(INDIANAPOLIS) - Paul Tracy will resume his racing career next weekend, driving in the Rexall Edmonton Indy race in Edmonton, Canada.

An effort between Tracy, Vision Racing, and Walker Racing was announced yesterday that will put Tracy in the #22 Subway-sponsored car in his native Canada.

The 39 year-old Tracy said he doesn't want to be just a part of the race, he wants to be competitive in his return to an open-wheel car.

Tracy was left without a ride with the off-season merger of the Champ Car World Series and Indy Racing League and the Edmonton race will mark his first under the IndyCar Series label since a controversial 2002 Indianapolis 500.

Tracy has finished in the top five in each of the last three Champ Car races at Edmonton.

Tony George, co-owner of Vision Racing, said additional races are possible for Tracy in the Subway car.
