IU Guard Transfers To Xavier

Last updated on Friday, July 11, 2008

(UNDATED) - Former Indiana University guard Jordan Crawford has decided to transfer to Xavier University.

The 6-foot-4 freshman announced last month he would not return to IU, becoming the 12th player to graduate or leave the program since last fall.

The Detroit native was the Hoosiers' fourth leading scorer, averaging nearly 10 points last season, playing in 30 games and starting eight of them.

Crawford spent a year following high school at Hargrave Military Academy before choosing IU over Xavier.

Typically transfers must sit out one year before playing at another division one school, but reports are that Xavier will request a waiver from the NCAA, citing turmoil at IU following NCAA recruiting violations and the departure of coach Kelvin Sampson as the reason for his transfer.
