Hoosier Natives Workout For Pacers

Last updated on Monday, June 9, 2008

(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - IUPUI guard George Hill will become the latest Indianapolis native to try out for his hometown team as the Indiana Pacers continue pre-draft workouts today at Conseco Fieldhouse.

Western Kentucky guard Courtney Lee from Indianapolis Pike High School and Notre Dame forward Rob Kurz worked out on Thursday while Xavier forward Stanley Burrell, who prepped at Ben Davis High School, participated in Wednesday's workouts.

Also scheduled to participate in today's workout is Kansas forward Brandon Rush. Rush's brother Kareem plays for the Pacers.

Indiana holds the eleventh and 41st overall picks after failing to make the playoffs for the second-consecutive year. They did not have a first round pick last year following a trade with the Atlanta Hawks that returned Al Harrington to Indianapolis. Harrington was later traded to the Golden State Warriors in the deal that also sent Stephen Jackson to Oakland in exchange for Mike Dunleavy, Troy Murphy and Ike Diogu.
