(INDIANAPOLIS) - Former Purdue Univerity basketball player Austin Parkinson has been named as an assistant coach at IUPUI.

Parkinson, who finished his playing career tenth on the boilermakers' all-time assist list, was the director of basketball operations under Dane Fife at IPFW last season.

Before that, he spent two seasons as a graduate assistant at the University of Indianapolis. Parkinson succeeds Eric Allen with the Jaguars.

Allen recently became IUPUI's Director of Player Development.
