White Named Big Ten Player Of The Year

(PARK RIDGE, IL) - Indiana senior center D.J. White is the Big Ten player of the year and Purdue Coach Matt Painter is the conference’s coach of the year.

White and Painter garnered the most votes among both the media and the coaches.

IU guard Eric Gordon is the consensus freshman of the year while Purdue sophomore guard Chris Kramer was voted the league's defensive player of the year. White and Gordon were consensus picks for the all Big Ten first team along with Purdue freshman Robbie Hummel and Wisconsin's Brian Butch.

The coaches voted Michigan State's Drew Neitzel as the fifth member of the all-conference first team while the media selected Ohio State's Jamar Butler.
