(HOUSTON, TX) - The Houston Rockets set a franchise record with their 16th-consecutive win as they defeated the Indiana Pacers 117-99.

Tracy McGrady led Houston with 25 points with Rafer Alston adding 21. The Pacers kept the game close until early in the second quarter.

Mike Dunleavy hit a three-pointer to tie the game at 36 with just under ten minutes left in the first half when Houston went on a 15-0 run. The blue-and-gold made a run in the third quarter to cut their deficit to seven at 83-76 when the Rockets responded with a 15-2 run, ending the competitive portion of the game.

Troy Murphy had a double-double with 17 points and ten rebounds while Danny Granger also finished with 17 points as the Pacers' two-game winning streak comes to an end.

Indiana falls to 24-and-37 and drops back into eleventh place in the Eastern Conference. Despite the loss, the only team the Pacers lost ground to was Chicago. The Bulls were idle last night and jumped a half-game ahead of Indiana in the standings. New Jersey and Atlanta lost last night, leaving the Pacers two games behind the eighth-place Nets for the final playoff berth and one game back of the ninth-place Hawks.

Milwaukee was a winner over Seattle on Wednesday night, pulling the twelfth-place bucks to within a game of Indiana.

The Pacers are back in action tonight as they head on to San Antonio to face the defending NBA Champion Spurs. San Antonio enters tonight's game riding a ten-game winning streak.
