O'Neal Returns To Pacers Lineup

Last updated on Tuesday, March 25, 2008

(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - The Indiana Pacers look to extend a pair of winning streaks tonight as they welcome the New Orleans Hornets to Conseco Fieldhouse.

The Pacers have won four straight and their last five home games as they have moved to within a game and-a-half of Atlanta for the final Eastern Conference playoff berth. They will need to continue their hot play tonight as they host the Hornets.

New Orleans has won its last three games and trail the Los Angeles Lakers by a half-game for the best record in the Western Conference.

Indiana beat the hornets 105-93 in New Orleans back on November 21st.

The Pacers are close to getting former all-star Jermaine O'Neal back in the lineup. O'Neal has not played since January 16th, missing 30 consecutive games due to problems with his left knee. O'Neal has had problems with a bone bruise and swelling in the knee after undergoing offseason surgery.

In January, he said that he came back from the surgery too soon and said that he would not return until he was back to 100% healthy.

O'Neal resumed practicing last Thursday and said following yesterday's practice that he expects to be back in uniform "very, very soon".
