Pacers Seek Playoff Berth, Host Chicago Tonight

Last updated on Wednesday, February 27, 2008

(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - Two teams struggling for an NBA playoff berth face off tonight at Conseco Fieldhouse as the Indiana Pacers host the Chicago Bulls.

Both teams have dropped their last two games as they sit on the outside of the playoff picture.

The Bulls are 22-and-34 and are in ninth place in the Eastern Conference standings, two and a half games behind New Jersey and Philadelphia for the final playoff berths.

The Pacers are a half-game behind the bulls at 22-and-35 in a tenth-place tie with Milwaukee.

The Pacers and Bulls have split their two meetings this season with each team winning on its home court. Both teams have taken different approaches to the final two months of the regular season.

The Pacers did not make any deals as the trading deadline passed last week. The Bulls were involved in a major three-team, eleven-player trade with Cleveland and Seattle.

Among others, Chicago picked up Larry Hughes and Drew Gooden from Cleveland while sending Ben Wallace and Joe Smith to the Cavaliers and Adrian Griffin to the Sonics.
