Hoosiers Dominate Boards In Victory

(BLOOMINGTON, IN) - The Indiana Hoosiers snapped their two-game skid with a 75-63 win over the Northwestern Wildcats.

Eric Gordon led IU with 29 points, including eight during a 14-2 run midway through the second half that broke the game open. DJ White added 26 points and 13 rebounds as IU dominated the glass, outrebounding Northwestern 39-17 including an 18-3 advantage on the offensive boards.

The Hoosiers beat the Wildcats for the 35th-straight time in Bloomington - a streak which dates back to 1968.

The Wildcats kept the game close, trailing 52-50 with under twelve minutes remaining before the Hoosiers went on their big run. Northwestern shot 64-percent from the field in the first half, but cooled off in the second, going nearly ten minutes without a field goal.

Craig Moore led Northwestern with 17 points with Jeremy Nash and Kevin Coble adding twelve points apiece as the Wildcats suffered their third-straight road loss to fall to 7-and-12 overall, 0-and-8 in the Big Ten.

The Hoosiers improve to 18-and-3, 7-and-1 in Big Ten play as they remain a half-game behind first place Purdue and Wisconsin in the conference standings.

The Hoosiers are at Illinois on Thursday night.
