(LOOGOOTEE) - A struggling Mitchell team claimed a close victory against the Loogootee Lions, 54-53.
Evan Sanders led Mitchell with 19 points and 7 rebounds. Both Austin Claudell and Dwayne Eubanks collected 10 points each for the Bluejackets. Zack Kern chipped in with 8 points of his own.
Loogootee pushed back and forth against the Jackets with the combined offense of Patrick Bowling, Roland Slaubaugh and Chris Taylor. Bowling led the Lions with a career-high 21 points, while Slaubaugh and Taylor each chipped in 13 points each.
With the win, Mitchell improves to 6-8 on the season and will face the Shoals Jug Rox this Thursday night. You can hear all of the action on our sister station, Z102.
