(SALT LAKE CITY, UT) - The Indiana Pacers gave up 40 points in the first quarter and never recovered as they lost to the Utah Jazz 111-89.
Carlos Boozer led Utah with 22 points and Matt Harpring added 16 as the Jazz led by as many as 28 points in the first half.
Utah Coach Jerry Sloan played his reserves most of the second half as no Jazz player recorded more than 26 minutes of playing time.
Danny Granger led the Pacers with 17 points with Jamaal Tinsley, in his first game back from a hamstring injury, finishing with 13 points. Indiana lost four of the five games Tinsley missed and responded to his return by suffering their worst defeat of the season.
The Pacers have lost seven of their last eight and six-straight on the road to fall to 16-and-20.
The five-game west coast trip continues with game-three tonight as the blue-and-gold head to phoenix to face the Suns.
The Suns hold a half-game lead over San Antonio for the best record in the Western Conference at 24-and-10. Phoenix is 11-and-4 at home this season.
