Last updated on Wednesday, December 12, 2007

(UNDATED) - Three Indiana University football players have earned All-American honors.

Junior kicker Austin Starr, sophomore defensive end Greg Middleton and junior wide receiver James Hardy were named to the Associated Press and SI.com teams.

Starr was named to SI's first team and to the second team by AP. Middleton was named to the second team by SI and the third team by AP while hardy is on AP's third team and was an honorable mention on SI.com. All three were finalists for national awards at their respective positions.

It marks the first time an Indiana player has been named to an All-American team since Antwaan Randle El was honored in 2001.

It is the first time three Hoosiers were named All-American since 1987 when receiver Ernie Jones, kicker Pete Stoyanovich and linebacker Van Waiters were honored.

All three were named to ESPN.com's all-Big Ten team along with junior quarterback Kellen Lewis.

The Hoosiers are in a postseason bowl for the first time in 14 years as they face Oklahoma State in the Insight Bowl on New Year's Eve.
