Manning-Wayne Combo Set Records Despite Loss To Titans

Last updated on Monday, December 31, 2007

(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - Rob Bironas kicked a pair of fourth-quarter field goals as the Tennessee Titans make the NFL playoffs with a 16-10 win over the Indianapolis Colts.

Kerry Collins came in for an injured Vince Young to lead both scoring drives in the final period as the Titans improve to 10-and-6 and will head west to San Diego to face the Chargers in the wild card round.

Peyton Manning and Reggie Wayne did not see much time in last night's loss to the Titans, but they saw enough to reach significant milestones. Manning played two series, completing 14 of 16 passes for 95 yards. Manning also surpassed the 4,000-yard mark during the first series, extending his NFL record of 4,000-yard seasons to eight.

Wayne caught twelve passes for 87 yards to become the second colt with more than 100 catches in a season as well as passing Randy Moss for the league lead in receiving yardage.

The Colts saw their six-game win streak come to an end as they fall to 13-and-3.

Indianapolis had already clinched the number-two seed in the AFC and will open the post season at home on Sunday, January 13th.
