Hoosiers And Boilermakers Accept Bowl Bids

(UNDATED) - The bowl drought is over for the Indiana University football team.

The Hoosiers will play Oklahoma State in the Insight Bowl in Tempe, Arizona on New Year's Eve. It will mark the first time the Hoosiers have appeared in a postseason bowl since the end of the 1993 season.

The Hoosiers went 7-and-5 under first-year Head Coach Bill Lynch. The Cowboys finished the regular season at 6-and-6.

The Purdue Boilermakers will face Central Michigan in the Motor City Bowl in Detroit on December 26th. The bowl appearance will be the tenth for the Boilers in the eleven-year tenure of Head Coach Joe Tiller.

The Chippewas are champions of the Mid-American Conference and are the defending Motor City Bowl Champions. Purdue beat Central Michigan 45-22 at Ross-Ade Stadium in West Lafayette on September 15th.

On Saturday, Ball State accepted a bid to the January 5th International Bowl in Toronto.

The Cardinals finished the regular season at 7-and-5 and are in a bowl game for the first time since 1996.

Ball state will face the Rutgers Scarlet Knights. Rutgers also enters the game with a 7-and-5 mark.
