(BALTIMORE, MD) - Peyton Manning threw four touchdown passes in just over one half of play as the Indianapolis Colts clinched a playoff berth with a 44-20 rout of the Rravens in Baltimore.
The Colts scored touchdowns on four of their six possessions in the first half, building a 37-7 lead at halftime.
With a 19-yard touchdown pass to running back Joseph Addai in the first quarter, Peyton Manning reached 300 TD passes for his career.
Manning finished his night midway through the third quarter, completing 13-of-17 for 249 yards. He is just the fifth quarterback in NFL history to record 300 touchdown passes, joining Brett Favre, Dan Marino, Fran Tarkenton and John Elway at that level. Favre is still active while the other three are in the Hall of Fame.
Manning's night ended when he threw his fourth touchdown pass to the evening - a 40-yarder to rookie receiver Anthony Gonzalez. It was Gonzalez' second TD reception of the night and the second of his career.
With the win, the Colts clinched a spot in the postseason for the sixth consecutive year. Indianapolis improves to 11-and-2 on the season and have won four in a row.
The loss was a franchise-record seventh straight for the Ravens, who dip to 4-and-9.
The Colts can wrap up their fifth-straight AFC South title this Sunday with a win in Oakland or a Jacksonville loss in Pittsburgh.
