Last updated on Monday, November 12, 2007

(INDIANAPOLIS) - Race fans stood in line this morning to buy tickets to The Greatest Spectacle In Racing.

Tickets to the 500, the 15th Allstate 400 at the Brickyard and the Red Bull Indianapolis GP Motorcycle Race have been on sale for months, but this is the first day fans could physically come to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway to purchase tickets and take them home.

The only price increase is for tickets is to the NASCAR race.

IMS spokesman Ron Green says tickets increased $5 to $10, depending on the seat location. He adds ticket pricing for some sections remain the same. Green says ticket increases occur on a three to four year cycle.

While the NASCAR race is the biggest of its kind, the Indianapolis 500 remains the most popular race at IMS.

The Indy 500 is may 25th, the NASCAR race is July 27th, and the motorcycle race is scheduled Sept. 14.

Tickets are now available at IMS, via telephone at (800) 822-INDY and online: www.indianapolismotorspeedway.com
