Dakich Takes Over As IU Basketball Asst. Coach

Last updated on Friday, November 2, 2007

(BLOOMINGTON, IN) - Dan Dakich is the new assistant men’s basketball coach for the Indiana Hoosiers.

Dakich, who was fired last spring as the head coach at Bowling Green after ten seasons with the Falcons, had been serving as IU's director of basketball operations. He will fill the void created when Rob Senderoff resigned on Tuesday.

Senderoff was the key figure in an NCAA investigation involving improper phone calls being made by the IU basketball staff. Senderoff had been banned from recruiting off campus and telephoning recruits for one year.

Athletic Director Rick Greenspan says Dakich will inherit the recruiting bans placed on Senderoff.
