Pacers Open Preseason Action Tonight

Last updated on Wednesday, October 10, 2007

(INDIANAPOLIS, IN)- The Indiana Pacers open preseason play tonight when they host the New Orleans Hornets.

The Pacers ended training camp yesterday and new Head Coach Jim O'Brien says he expects to have most of his players available.

The Pacers could be without guard Kareem Rush, who's nursing a sore ankle and Achilles. Center David Harrison could also sit out the team's first "fake game" as he also has a sore ankle.

The Pacers are trying to win back the fans after a disappointing couple of seasons with on and off-court issues.

The Pacers failed to make the playoffs last season for the first time in ten years. Indiana finished last season at 35-and-47 but Pacers all-star forward Jermaine O'Neal says he's optimistic about the upcoming season.

The Pacers will host Kevin Durant and the Seattle Supersonics at Conseco Fieldhouse on Saturday night.

Indiana opens the NBA regular season on Halloween night when they host the Washington Wizards.
