Last updated on Tuesday, September 4, 2007

(AUBURN HILLS, MI) - The Detroit Shock advanced to the WNBA Finals, eliminating the Indiana Fever 81-65 in game three of the Eastern Conference Finals.

Deanna Nolan scored 20 of her franchise playoff-record 30 points in the first half as the shock dominated the second quarter for the second-straight night to take control of the game.

Swin Cash finished with twelve points and Katie Feenstra added eleven while Cheryl Ford grabbed 15 rebounds in just 18 minutes as Detroit advances to the finals for the second consecutive year.

Tammy Sutton-Brown led Indiana with 17 points and ten rebounds and Tully Bevilaqua had 14 and were the only two Indiana players to reach double figures.

The Fever played the second half without all-star forward Tamika Catchings. Catchings, who missed the final month of the regular season with a torn plantar fascia on her left foot, suffered a possible tear of her right achilles tendon just before halftime. She was carried off the court and did not return, finishing with seven points in just 16 minutes.

The Shock host the Phoenix Mercury in game one of the WNBA Finals on Wednesday night. The Mercury swept the San Antonio Silver Stars in the Western Conference Finals and have not lost a playoff game this season.
