Mud Hens Running Away From Tribe In West

Last updated on Thursday, August 23, 2007

(TOLEDO, OH) - The Toledo Mud Hens drew closer to clinching their third-straight International League West Division title as they defeated the Indianapolis Indians 8-4.

Mike Hessman hit a two-run homer and Timo Perez added a two-run single as Toledo scored fife times in the bottom of the second to take control of the game.

The Tribe scored three runs in the top of the ninth, but it was not enough as the Indians have lost two straight in Toledo to fall nine games behind the Mud Hens in the west division race. Toledo's magic number for clinching the division is five.

The tribe and Mud Hens close out their series in Toledo tonight.
