Knight Attempts To Collect On Lawsuit Settlement

Last updated on Thursday, August 9, 2007

(INDIANAPOLIS) - Former I.U. basketball coach Bob Knight has lost a bid to make his insurance company pay the settlement of a lawsuit filed by a former assistant.

Knight paid Ron Felling $25,000 five years ago to settle a lawsuit filed after Knight allegedly shoved Felling into a TV during an argument.

An unanimous Indiana Court of Appeals agrees with a Marion Superior judge that Knight's homeowners' insurance policy doesn't cover Felling's suit, because the incident was work-related.

Knight was fired nine months after the Felling confrontation and now coaches at Texas Tech.
