Colts To Practice Despite Player Cuts

Last updated on Thursday, August 30, 2007

(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - The Indianapolis Colts will hold a final practice this afternoon as they prepare for Friday night’s preseason finale in Cincinnati with the Bengals.

The Colts are 1-and-2 in the preseason, getting their first win of the season last Saturday night at home against Detroit. The Bengals are 0-and-3 following their Monday night loss in Atlanta.

It is the 16th time that the Colts and Bengals will meet in the preseason and the sixth time in the last seven years that the two will play in the final game of the preseason. The Bengals lead the preseason series 9-6.

The Colts have announced their final two cuts from Tuesday's mandatory roster reduction to 75 players. The Colts waived kicker Shane Andrus and offensive lineman Travis Leitko. They join the ten players whose removals from the roster were announced on Tuesday.

The most notable players released in the first wave of cuts were veteran offensive tackle Rick DeMulling, whose contract was terminated, and linebacker Keith O'Neil, who played primarily on special teams and was placed on injured reserve.

The final cutdown to 53 players will take place by Saturday afternoon.
