Colts Resign Boiman As Offseason Workout Begins

Last updated on Tuesday, April 17, 2007

(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - The Colts have re-signed veteran linebacker Rocky Boiman to a one-year contract.

The veteran backup from Notre Dame became an unrestricted free agent in March. The deal reportedly consists of a $595,000 dollar base salary with a $40,000 dollar signing bonus.

Boiman is expected to compete with veteran Rob Morris and second-year man Freddie Keiaho for time at strong-side linebacker.

Several Colts players were present at the teams' headquarters Monday to begin the offseason workout program. The 14-week program is voluntary, but Head Coach Tony Dungy says participation is heavy, normally with 90-percent of the players showing up.

The workout program is starting two weeks later than usual as Dungy decided to give the team some extra rest following their Super Bowl XLI win over the Chicago bears.

The NFL Draft will be held on April 28th and 29th and the Colts will begin their annual three-day rookie minicamp on May 4th.
