MITCHELL--Mitchell High School Principal Dr. Steve Phillips has confirmed that Ross Simpson, current Mitchell High School Girls Head Basketball coach, has submitted his resignation as Girls Head Basketball coach at Mitchell High School.

Simpson tells WBIW News, "I did tender my resignation Monday morning. I have had a wonderful 9 year run with the Mitchell Girls Basketball Program. I would like to thank the administration at Mitchell High School for all the support that they have given me (Danny Reynolds and Dr. Steve Phillips in particular)."

Simpson adds, "I had their full recommendation to coach again next year but I chose not to. I would like to also thank everyone that has been involved in the program, they are why we are so successful."
