Senate Leader: Indiana Budget Will Take A Lot Of Discipline
(UNDATED) - The leader of the State Senate says the number one priority in the upcoming session is going to be creating a new two-year budget for Indiana.
Senate President Pro-Tem David Long (R-Fort Wayne) says when lawmakers are in a budget year, making the budget is the biggest issue. He says it's going to be a tight year fiscally because the whole country has less money and revenue is down.
Long says lawmakers will have to focus on the most critical issues such as education and Medicaid.
He says there's not going to be a whole lot of money and creating the budget is going to require a lot of discipline.
