Pence: Tractors Are In The Field; They Have To Buy Gasoline

(UNDATED) - Sixth District Representative Mike Pence says the U.S. has to make greater use of its own oil reserves.
The Republican congressman said on the FOX News Channel Program "Your World" the U.S. can't bring gas prices down through conservation alone. Even if people cut back on vacation travel, Pence says, "it has no impact whatsoever on business, especially business on the farm. The tractors are in the field; they've got to buy the gasoline and the diesel."
Pence says he's hopeful pump prices averaging nearly four dollars a gallon will soften opposition to oil drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge in Alaska.
President bush has called for drilling in ANWR for years, but bills to allow it have repeatedly failed, regardless of which party controlled Congress.
