State Rep Calls For New Energy Incentives
(INDIANAPOLIS) - Democratic congressional candidate David Orentlicher is calling for $15-billion dollars a year in federal spending on clean energy research.
The Indianapolis state representative says Congress should require electric companies to get a quarter of their power from clean energy sources within 17 years. He's also calling for caps on greenhouse gas emissions, and higher fuel-efficiency requirements for cars, light bulbs, and appliances.
Orentlicher is one of seven Democrats trying to unseat newly elected Seventh District Congressman Andre Carson in the May primary.
