State Senator Resigning, Moving To South Carolina

(WESTFIELD) - A Republican state senator is resigning.
Westfield Senator Jeff Drozda is moving to South Carolina at the end of June to devote his full attention to his fulltime job: managing government affairs for united healthcare in four southern states
Drozda says the company wanted him closer to his assigned territory, and was concerned about the difficulty of working around the legislative session.
Drozda has been in the Senate for six years. He'll keep his seat through the end of the session next week. After he leaves Indiana, there'll be a caucus to pick someone to serve the two years remaining in his term.
Drozda predicts "four or five" people may run for the seat. He says he may endorse someone, but isn't doing so yet.
Drozda's district stretches through four counties, from Zionsville to Kokomo.
