(INDIANAPOLIS) - Keeping jobs in Indiana. That’s what US Senator Evan Bayh (D-IN) touted on a Monday-morning stop at a magnet factory in Indianapolis.

Bayh got a tour of Thomas and Skinner, a more-than century-old company, and talked about the need to use US made metals for defense contracts.

Thomas and Skinner makes high-performance magnets used by the military.

Bayh says the federal government has tried to move toward using products made in places like China and Russia for the military. But, a law dating back to the 1970s keeps those plans in check.

Bayh says it's important to keep military manufacturing in the US.
