(STATEHOUSE) - Pull-tabs gambling in bars and taverns is a step closer to reality. Pull-tabs are already allowed at charitable fraternal organizations or clubs.
The Senate voted 26-21 for the bill, which had already cleared the House and is expected to go next to a conference committee.
The Pull-Tabs Bill requires a minimum payout of 60-to-75-percent of the money wagered, depending on how much each chance costs. Pull-tabs would have to sell for a dollar or less.
Governor Daniels hasn't said he would sign a pull-tabs law, but he hasn't threatened a veto either.
