Property Tax Cap On Income, Not Value Of Home Say House Democrats
(INDIANAPOLIS) - House Democrats are expected to endorse a major change in proposals to cap property tax bills for homeowners.
Democratic Rep. Terry Goodin of Crothersville says the House Ways and Means Committee wants to cap homeowner's tax bills at 1% of their income, instead of 1% of the assessed value of their homes.
The panel is expected to vote on the change by inserting it into a resolution that would begin the process of amending tax caps into the state constitution.
