(ARLINGTON, VA.) - Former Indianapolis Mayor Steve Goldsmith has endorsed John McCain for president.

Goldsmith had been former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani's top domestic policy adviser. Giuliani quit the race last week after a disappointing third-place finish in the Florida primary.

Goldsmith now calls McCain "exactly the leader we need" to put citizens ahead of special interests, and says the Arizona senator can bring "confidence and hope" to the country.

McCain is the leader in the Republican delegate count heading into tomorrow's Super Tuesday primaries and caucuses.
