Congressman Pence Files For Re-Election
(UNDATED) - Indiana Congressman Mike Pence officially filed for re-election as a candidate for congress in the 6th district.
He appeared briefly at the secretary of state's office at the Statehouse to sign the paperwork.
Pence said he's excited about Senator John McCain's visit to Indianapolis, but he won't appear with the senator because he's holding a similar town hall meeting at the same time in Connersville.
Pence has been mentioned recently as a possible running mate for John McCain. Under state law, it's possible for him to run for both the congressional seat and as vice-president.
When asked about that possibility, the congressman was ambivalent, saying he's only interested in furthering the conservative agenda.
Barry Welsh is seeking the Democratic nomination to challenge pence. The primary takes place in May.
